The objectives of the Institute are to promote and provide studies in medical science leading to recognized graduate and postgraduate degrees, conduct research work on the diseases prevalent in the country, conduct research on medical education with the aim of raising the standard of medical education in the country, and provide skilled manpower in the medical field.

The Institute has been established by an Act of Parliament with a view to promoting and providing studies in medical science leading to recognized graduate and postgraduate degrees. The Institute seeks to achieve its objectives through various activities such as conducting research work on the diseases prevalent in the country, conducting research on medical education with the aim of raising the standard of medical education in India, and providing skilled manpower in the medical field.

The idea of establishing a medical college was taken as the first and foremost aim of this college. Through the tireless efforts of the Founder Member, this dream has been realized against much odds when permission was granted by the Government of Bangladesh for establishment of this college on 2011.

The college is built on an area of 17 acres. The total land area is divided into two parts, one for academic building and another for hospital building. The academic building consists of three floors including ground floor, first floor and second floor with a total area of 7300 square feet. It includes lecture halls, libraries and laboratories etc.

The hospital building is located within a beautiful garden with green lawns and large trees around it. It consists of outpatient department (OPD), nursing unit and other related departments such as surgery, medicine, orthopedics etc.
