Introduction of the college
The State Medical University of Volgograd Stalingrad Medical Institute, now known as Volgograd State Medical University Russia, was established in 1935. It was given the status of the Academy in 1993 and the quality of the University in 2003. Professor Vladimir I. Petrov, the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences academician, is the organization’s current leader. MCI India acknowledges the Volgograd State Medical University since it is listed in the FAIMER International Medical Education Directory and the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools. The Volgograd State Medical University has developed connections and contacts with various international universities. The World Federation for Medical Education, the World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO, the British Council, and the United States Agency for International Development have also worked with Volgograd Medical University.

First Year | The first year focuses on basics. There will be Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Nursing (surgery & therapy), Anatomy, Histology, Latin, and Public Health. As an addition, students study History, Economics, Philosophy, Culturology, Russian language, Physical Training, Basics of Research and Mathematics. |

Second Year | The second-year focuses on the functioning of the human body and metabolic processes. It includes subjects like Physiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Hygiene. As an addition, students study Psychology, Medical Law, Bioethics, and the Russian language for doctor-patient communication. Students must work as a nurse in the hospital for minimum two weeks, after obtaining the degree. |
Third Year | In the third year, students undergo training in the etiology of the diseases and the action of drugs, which includes Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Radiology, Internal medicine, Topographical anatomy and Operative surgery. |
Fourth Year | The 4th year begins with hospital cycles. The students undergo training in different departments of the hospital as part of their course. The practical class is divided into two parts, the first half comprising discussion and the second half practice in the patient ward of the department. In the fourth year, future doctors must go through the various departments in the hospitals like Surgery, Dermatology and Venereology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neurology, Therapy, Medical Rehabilitation, Urology, Public health, Pediatrics, phthisiology, and Endocrinology. |
Fifth Year | In the fifth year, the students will get trained in E.N.T., Ophthalmology, Surgical Gynecology, Psychiatry, Traumatology, Orthopedics, Physiotherapy, Outpatient therapy, Gene therapy, and Infectious diseases. |
Sixth Year | The last year of the MBBS includes Oncology and radiation therapy, Occupational diseases, Anesthesiology, Intensive care training, Dentistry, Clinical Immunology, General medical practice, Neurosurgery, Forensic medicine, and Epidemiology. |
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria to study MBBS at Mari State Medical University is as follows:
- Students must have cleared NEET exam.
- Students must have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year in which the admission is being taken.
- The university accepts candidates with all passing marks and grades in class 12th, no specific grade or marks are required. The maximum age of the students should be below 25 years.
- The student must have Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at his/her 12th standard.
- Students must have secured minimum 50% marks in their 12th standard.
Admission Process
Following is the admission process for applying to MBBS course at Mari State Medical University:
Step 1: Applicants should fill the application form available online. They can send the documents via email.
Step 2: Then they have to submit a school leaving certificate, a birth certificate, a copy of passport, and transcripts of records and other necessary documents.
Step 3: Students will receive an admission letter from the university, once they submit the above documents.
Step 4: The Registration Fees should be paid to the University Account or through net banking.
Step 5: For study on the confirmation of the admission by respective universities, Russian Federation’s Department of Federal Migration Service will start issuing the official invitation letter to the students.
Step 6: On receiving an admission letter from Russian Federation, students would need to visit the embassy/ consulate of the Russian Federation in their country for a student visa.
