‘Orenburg State Medical University’ was founded by F.M. Lazarenko in August 1944 as Chkalov Medical Institute. On July 15, 1994, the Institute was reorganized into ‘The Orenburg State Medical University’, according to the decision of the State committee of Russia on Higher School.
